Heidi is an Alpine cross goat who was rescued from a starvation and abandonment case in Maryland. She was one of about 100 animals left to die when their caretakers walked away, leaving the animals with no food or water. It was two weeks before a neighbor drove up and found many animals dead and dying. Heidi was one of the few survivors, and she was so weak she had collapsed and couldn't stand. She was slowly nursed back to health and is now doing well. She spends time playing with her best friend Camille, another rescued goat, grazing on grass and relaxing in her barn. Her favorite treats are bread and carrots. |
