Please bring a friend and join us to help raise much needed funds
for the rescued animals! Enjoy an educational and entertaining afternoon
with delicious food, a live band, silent auction, clowns and face
painting for the kids, and an opportunity to visit with the Sanctuary's
many rescued residents. No specific fee to attend, but donations will be
accepted throughout the day of the event. RSVP requested.
Karen Davis, PhD, will be our keynote speaker. Karen is the founder
and president of United Poultry Concerns (www.upc-online.org),
a nonprofit organization that promotes the compassionate and respectful
treatment of domestic fowl including a sanctuary for chickens on
the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

The benefit is in honor of Mina, a wonderful dog who recently died of cancer and who was the beloved companion of Sheryl, a long-time volunteer at Poplar Spring. A beautiful and positive tribute to a cherished friend.

There will be a silent auction, Candy Cane the Clown, a live band, sale of t-shirts and other gift shop items, and an opportunity to stroll around the Sanctuary to meet all the rescued residents.
This year we are honored to have Gail Eisnitz, chief investigator for the Humane Farming Association, and author of Slaughterhouse, as our keynote speaker. Gail will sign books following her talk. |
