trumanMeet Truman

Truman is a Yorkshire pig who was found running down MacArthur Blvd. near Washington D.C.

He was picked up by the Montgomery County animal control in June 2010. About a week before he was rescued we received a call from one of our supporters saying that she knew some young men who had purchased a pig for a pig roast, but at the last minute couldn’t kill him, so they released him on the C&O Canal.

We are fairly certain that Truman is the same pig, as the canal is very adjacent to the road he was found on. Truman was very thin and scared when he first arrived, but now thanks to all the bagels, apples and other treats that his sponsor and other volunteers and staff feed him, he is very healthy, fat and happy!
